MUP is an organization focused upon starting reproducing movements to Christ among the most challenging Unreached People Groups in the world. This focus requires both long-term, well measured focus as well as quick and wise response to great tragedies.

Like many participants of the Ethne Frontier Crisis Response network, we have realized that a “Christ-modeling” loving and thoroughly professional response to tragedies in these Unreached populations is absolutely essential as part of our obedience to Christ’s call. When Christ-followers have acted in integrity and love in areas hostile to the Gospel, doors and hearts have become open to God’s work through Christ.

In Matthew 24, Jesus speaks of all kinds of disasters and wars and rumors of war. He continues "And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all the nations, and then the end will come" (24.14). The word “and” in this exact context indicates that in the middle of these crises (and maybe because of them), the Gospel would be preached finally to every tribe and tongue. We do know that God is so powerful that He can work in and through tragedies to both help them physically and emotionally but even more powerfully to help them spiritually by bringing them into relationship with Him.

Therefore, when crises happen among Unreached Peoples, MUP will consider if and how to respond to the most crucial situations -- not as a crisis response organization -- but out of obedience to Christ and with total focus on fulfillment of our vision. We have trained and will continue to train our people both to survive "ground zero” and to be able to respond with integrity in helping others. As our people respond in the disaster zone, they will seek the “people of peace” God has already prepared who will open whole families, communities, or villages to receive God’s Kingdom. The response will also be focused ultimately on enabling the long-term CPM-equipped workers fluent in the language and culture to remain in the area to catalyze a movement long after the immediate crisis is over!
